iRise
What is iRise?
iRise is a software company based in El Segundo, California. The company offers a cloud-based requirement definition and visualization platform for businesses and teams. The company enables product owners, product managers, business analysts, and every other stakeholder to prototype start-up project’s features and enhancements without coding or scripting as well as supporting the creation of interactive business flows, use cases and other diagrams. Each screen, user interface element and diagram can be expressed with detailed requirements which can be converted to custom documentation.
History of the company
The company was established in 1996 by Maurice Martin under the name Intracoastal Consulting. Emmet B. Keeffe came into the picture in 1998 to become the company founder. The company originally started as a consulting service firm with the aim of building Java-based applications for Fortune 1000 companies. The name of the company was converted to iRise in 2002.
What does the company offer?
iRise platform offers a simulation of business software that allows business analysts, product managers, project managers and usability professionals to assemble fully-functional simulations of problem-solving software that feels, looks and behaves the same way as the proposed final product. Business stakeholders, end users and the team of developers can interact with the stimulation and carry out near-final usability testing prior to the start of writing the codes. The visuals enable the user to get the features they want, functionality, interface appearance and also the user experience before the development of the program is done. Web applications, commercial off-the-shelf systems like SAP and Oracle desktop systems and mobile apps can be simulated.
Users can also increase the fidelity with the iRise studio. There is a desktop companion application which is used to add complex behaviours, business logic as well as data operations. The application enables users to convert simple prototypes to real-life stipulations that the stakeholders can actually use and test without having to write a line of code.
Users can create their own custom UI elements and action or import existing components that are JAVASCRIPT based on the internet using the iBloc application programming interface (API).
The program also allows multiple simulation authors to work on the same project simultaneously and publish simulation reviews for usability testers by directing the testers to a URL. Usability testers log in to view and interact with the simulation and provide feedback about the simulation. Authors can also share their projects with anyone as a simple iDoc file when it is exported and this iDoc file can be run using the free iRise reader application and add comments.
Availability of the platform
The iRise platform is available as both SaaS or on-premises service. Teams from all around the world can collaborate in real-time on interactive prototypes. The teams can compare the prototypes against the requirements, share them securely, collect feedback, produce documentation and export the code to kick-start development all within the browser. Authors can use the drag-and-drop paradigm to layout scenarios screens, widgets, data interactions, business logic and behaviour.
Partnerships
In July 2015, the company partnered with Tasktop Inc to let iRise connect via tasktop sync connector to leading ALM tools such as Atlassian JIRA, HP quality centre, IBM Rational, Microsoft TFS, Jama, Version one, ThoughtWorks Mingle and Blue print
