Sabre Corporation’s earliest history started in the year 1953 when the president of American Airlines in the person of C.R. Smith met with a salesperson in IBM in the person of Blair Smith. The solution which contains two separate IBM 7090 mainframe computers and has the capacity to process up to 84, 000 calls in a day was installed in Briar-cliff Manor, in New York, United States.
